Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Writing for Children and Young Adults but Were Afraid to Ask with Nora Raleigh Baskin

29 January 12:30 pm

Of course, there are no hard and fast rules to creative writing, and if there were, they were meant to be broken.
At the same time, there ARE guidelines to writing successful fiction, especially when writing for children and young adults. In this four-hour seminar, ALA award-winning author, Nora Raleigh Baskin, will share everything she wished she had known when she first started sending out her work for acceptance, from turning fact into fiction, plot vs character, the single sentence, details not adjectives, tone, P.O.V, writing realistic effective dialogue, to navigating the rapidly changing publishing world. We will talk and learn, write and share, and I know everyone will close their computers at the end of the day feeling inspired.
